This is my first post so please be kind :D I'm a young man with no children and no intentions of having any of my own. The reason I came to this decision is after a lot of thought and many, many discussions with my friends and family.
So let's kick off :D If I'm honest with myself I don't know whether I would be able to provide the right kind of support and atmosphere for a child. This is based on the premise that everyone should strive to produce children that are better than themselves. I think if I were to raise a child then he or she would most likely turn out just like me!
And then there is the population problem, in my opinion, it's all growing at an unsustainable rate. If the population keeps growing and reaches beyond the levels of supply: food, water etc. then there will be a lot more suffering.
Lastly for the cost of raising one child as my own it would be possible to help many children who are living without parents in orphanages etc. There are many children who need loving homes so if you were going to have a child then why not adopt?
